What is a master class?

In a true master class, each student performs and is coached for the benefit of both the student and the audience by our visiting instructor. Master classes are critical for a musician’s development along with private lessons, competitions, workshops and performances.

Thinking of majoring in music for college? A master class performance is a great addition to your application. Want to make All-State? Master class could give you a new perspective on an old problem. Audition to perform!

But you don’t have to audition and perform for a master class to benefit. You just come with a pencil and wait for the light bulbs to go off. The audience is an essential part of the master class experience.
